The Differences between the two coding modules are currently the following:

Interval Coding Real-Time Coding
  • Supports both DVDs and Digital Media Files
  • Supports both DVDs and Digital Media Files
  • Allows for simultaneous behaviors
  • Only one behavior can be active at any particular time
  • Over 1000 behaviors can be entered.
  • Limited to 8 behaviors for each coding pass

The reliability and statistics modules differ as follows:

Interval Coding Real-Time Coding
  • Reliability Program calculates Kappa and cross table, for each behavior using an A, NOT A method.
  • Reliability Program calculates Kappa and cross table for all behaviors
  • Statistics Module outputs for each behavior: Duration, Total Intervals Total Duration
  • Statistics Module outputs for each behavior: Average Duration, Total Duration, Count, Frequency, Proportion
  • It also outputs Mean Intensity (overall average if behaviors are given numeric values)
